Plot Outline:
When MacGyver hears from Pete that he will be getting the chance to visit four troublesome teenagers involved in gangs for a rehabilitation program in the mountains, he very much looks forward to the opportunity, despite the fact he must ride in an ultralight (which he just crashed in the simulator). But as soon as he meets the troublesome four, he realizes that it´s not going to be as easy to rehabilitate the gangsters as he thought, despite having made a likeable first impression. With all the secrets and strong feelings between them, the four argue and try to fight each other constantly. MacGyver first learns the trouble between two of the four when Gina, the only female of the group, attemps to score a romance with MacGyver. Frustrated at MacGyver's refusal, she in turn refuses to tell MacGyver the problem. After some reasoning, she explains that Luther, whose brother was murdered, intends on killing Ramon in return, the alleged killer. Later, when the four are flying home, the pilot suffers a heart attack and the ultralight crashes into the wilderness with rescue groups days behind. Now all five of them must depend on each other. Things don't improve when Tommy runs away to try and get the group rescued and ends up at the mercy of a mountain lion before MacGyver comes to the rescue. Of course, now that MacGyver is gone, Luther again attemps to kill Ramon, who now has a punctured spleen as a result of the crash. MacGyver saves the day with Luther hanging over Ramon, knife in hand. Next, MacGyver, realizing Ramon is slowly dying, enlists the help of Gina and Tommy to repair the airplane and clear a makeshift runway. Luther, refusing to help, is approached by MacGyver who tells him to think about the facts completely before jumping to conclusions. Luther, deciding that Ramon wasn't the one who killed his brother, finally assists in constructing the plane. The plane's front wheel has been removed and has been replaced with a hollowed out log, lined up on a runway covered with a trough of mud. Can MacGyver get the aircraft airborne? The life of Ramon, as well as MacGyver's, will depend on it, because no one knows where the five of them are...
